Suns Make Kevin Young NBA’s Highest Paid Over $2 Million Assistant Coach: Report

As the organization prepares Frank Vogel Phoenix’s next head coach plans to make Kevin Young the highest-paid assistant coach in the NBA, according to ESPN.

According to reports, Young’s deal will pay more than $2 million a year.

ESPN reported Friday that the Suns have signed Vogel to a five-year deal as their next head coach.

The last thing Vogel taught was los angeles lakersled the franchise for three years and won the 2020 NBA Championship.


He was waived after the 2021-2022 season as LA went 33-49 and missed the playoffs.

Phoenix fired head coach Monty Williams after losing to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals. Williams won the 2022 NBA Coach of the Year award and led Phoenix to the NBA Finals.

The Suns were expected to contend for the championship 2023 NBA ChampionshipHowever, injuries and lack of depth after the Durant trade marked their eventual demise.
