The Cincinnati Reds are promoting 6-foot-5 shortstop Ellie Delacruz to make her major league debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Reds announced Tuesday that they will be calling up the 21-year-old from Triple-A to give one of the minor league’s most attractive talents his first major league test.

Delacruz will take over the roster spot of infielder/outfielder Nick Senzel. Senzel was placed on the 10-day injured list with an injury to his right knee. Senzel suffered a late scratch on Monday.

Dela Cruz, who signed from the Dominican Republic as a teenager, hit 28 homers and stole 47 bases last year in Class A and double-A.
