Today Logitech announced a new partnership with iFixit, a company that helps people fix broken devices. This partnership means you can now extend the life of certain Logitech mouse models and reduce unnecessary e-waste. win win!
Replacement parts and batteries for certain Logitech products are available at the iFixit Logitech Repair Hub. Currently, iFixit only supports Logitech MX Master and Logitech MX Anywhere mice with replacement parts due to their immense popularity. Logitech’s official announcement post suggests more products are coming, and iFixit’s Logitech Hub already includes repair guides and stubs for dozens of different products, from headsets to webcams to speakers.
The repair hub is full of powerful information, and it’s the way it should be. This is where you’ll find replacement parts and repair tools, from battery repair guides to many of our support questions. iFixit has also worked with Google, Samsung and Valve. Working with Logitech is the next step and logical move for the DIY company. The two companies also share the goal of solving the e-waste crisis, as electronic devices are often discarded instead of being repaired or updated.
There’s nothing cooler than fixing your own gear. That’s why I’m a huge fan of Framework laptops, which encourage you to tinker to your heart’s content. I have always been a big believer in the autonomy associated with technology. We love the idea of tinkering with your own gaming accessories or peripherals because nothing is more powerful than the power of choice.
Replacement parts for Logitech MX Master and Logitech MX Anywhere mice will be available in summer 2023.
