Intel’s Arc discrete graphics card won’t beat Nvidia or AMD for pure performance anytime soon, but it’s one of the best GPUs on the market in terms of value. In fact, the Arc A750 is the best 1080p graphics card for ray tracing. And that was before the recent price drop. Initially priced at $289, the A750 permanently dropped to $250 a few months ago. Currently, the price of this card appears to have dropped significantly to $199.99.
As reported by VideoCardz.com, these new prices are available on Newegg’s official Intel Store and are now also mirrored in Best Buy online listings. We’re talking about “official” Intel reference cards here. Cards from third-party manufacturers have yet to see a drop in price (which will probably follow soon). It’s unclear if this is another permanent price drop or a limited-time promotion.
Either way, this is the first time we’ve seen Arc A7xx series cards drop below the $200 price threshold. And if you’re in the market for a budget GPU, it’s seriously worth considering. Intel’s cards often outperform their competitors in the same price range. In terms of pure performance, the A750 is on par with the AMD Radeon RX 6600, comparable to the market price, but beats the Intel card in ray tracking performance. Initially, Intel’s drivers may have been a dealbreaker, but they have been steadily and continuously improved since launch.
The new Radeon RX 7600 retails for $269, making it a better choice for those with a bit more budget flexibility (which may be why the A750 is discounted now). However, the Arc A750 is still an outrageous deal if you’re short on cash and overdue for a desktop GPU upgrade. You don’t know how long the discount will last, so get it if you’re in the market.
