Today at the Google I/O Developers Conference, Google CEO Sundar Pichai pledged to use AI responsibly by improving knowledge and learning, boosting creativity, and deploying AI responsibly to maintain equality. Pichai showed off three apps that will be improved using AI.
Gmail (Help me fill it out)
Gmail is a pioneer in predictive responses and continues to offer a new feature called Help Me Write.
Help Me Write uses your previous records to create emails on specific topics, so you can use your previous email records to help negotiate settlements and request refunds for your travel reservations. All you have to do is request Help Me Write to write your email. Pichai said the feature will begin rolling out as part of the company’s upcoming Workspace updates.
google map
Last year, Google rolled out an immersive view to do what maps do best, Pichai says. Google Maps performs 20 billion directions a day. The app will now provide additional information on routes, including traffic and weather, and will be launched 15 years later by the end of this year, Pichai said.
Google Photos (Magic Editor)
Photos’ Magic Erase previously used AI to remove objects from a scene. Magic Editor can now move objects in the scene and even change the background.
IDG
Magic Editor can extend a scene using “outpainting” to create AI-based backgrounds and objects that don’t necessarily exist.
Google will release Magic Editor for Photos later this year.
