SEATAC, Wash. (AP) — A car crash in the departures area of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Wednesday injured several people and shut down that part of the airport.
The collision occurred on the upper departures walkway and three people were injured and taken to hospitals, airport officials said on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
“The incident on the upper road appears to be an unintentional act,” airport officials said.
An investigation was underway at the location and the departures unit will be closed until further notice, authorities said.
According to officials, people would still be able to use the lower arrivals area or the fourth floor of the airport parking lot to pick up and drop off passengers.
