Part of a California freeway was closed on Sunday after a crash killed at least three people and five others were taken for medical treatment.
The crash happened eastbound on I-10 in Riverside County around 7:30 a.m. local time, the Riverside County Fire Department said. It is not known what caused the accident. The road was to be closed for at least two hours.
Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, firefighters said.
Two other people were airlifted to a trauma center with serious injuries, while three people with moderate injuries were taken to hospital.
